Protection at remote locations
Campsites, mountain huts or marinas are often far from the nearest fire brigade — the box reacts independently before help can arrive.
Application area
Campsites, marinas and mountain lodges are increasingly running their own e-bike and e-scooter rental fleets, motorhome pitches and electric water sports equipment — often far from the nearest fire station. The Li-Ion Safety Box creates a defined, monitored charging point exactly where guests and staff need it.
Starting point

E-mobility in tourism is growing fast — rental e-bikes, motorhomes and electric boats all need charging on site. At remote locations such as campsites, marinas or mountain huts, professional help is often a long way off when an incident happens.
Campsites, marinas, mountain huts and hotels now run their own electric mobility: rental e-bikes and e-scooters, motorhome pitches, electric watersports kit. The stock has grown sharply over just a few seasons.
Charging happens wherever guests and staff find it practical — in the bike shed, in the boathouse, under the canopy, in the cellar under the guest rooms. And other people's devices are part of it: guests bring their own batteries and their own chargers, and nobody knows what condition they are in.
The decisive point is the distance. At remote sites it takes a long time before professional help arrives. What happens at the charging place in that time decides the scale of the damage — including at night, when guests are in the building.

How it works
The RUK Li-Ion Safety Box is placed at reception, in the rental shed or on the pitch — with no fixed fire-protection building work.
Rental and guest batteries are charged in the closed interior, not in the open at reception or in the shed.
Temperature sensors keep running — also at night or outside reception hours, when no staff are on site.
In a critical state the box switches off and starts extinguishing — important because help at remote sites often arrives only after some time.
Benefits
Campsites, mountain huts or marinas are often far from the nearest fire brigade — the box reacts independently before help can arrive.
E-bike and e-scooter rental stations get a central, monitored charging point instead of loose cables in the reception area.
Reduces risk to guests, staff and the often historic or sensitive fabric of hotels and holiday resorts.
Robust enough for seasonal outdoor operation — from the summer cycling season to winter rental.
In detail
| Typical situation | Risk without protection | With the RUK Li-Ion Safety Box |
|---|---|---|
| Rental e-bike fleet charges overnight at reception or in a shed | Unattended fire close to guests and the building | Enclosed, monitored charging point with automatic extinguishing |
| Campsite or mountain hut far from the nearest fire brigade | Long response times in an emergency | Autonomous detection and extinguishing right at the charging point |
| Motorhome pitches with guests' own charging equipment | Inconsistent, guest-supplied charging gear with no safety standard | Central, controlled charging point, also for private devices |
| Marina with batteries for e-boats and water sports equipment | Damp, salty environment increases material stress | IP54 protection rating for outdoor use |
| Seasonal peak times with short-term staff | New staff often don't know charging procedures and risks in detail | Self-explanatory charging point with key switch |
| Ski rental with e-bike hire in summer operation | Charging infrastructure is only used seasonally and rarely checked | Maintenance-free operation, ready immediately even after long idle periods |
